Brahmastra is without a doubt one of Bollywood's most talked-about projects. Apart from putting Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together on screen for the first time, the film also explores the fantasy genre, which is uncommon in Bollywood. While we know a few details about the character, Bollywood Hungama has published a report that describes the story's core concept.
The film's plot centres around the gods' ultimate weapon, which is unsurpassed in power. "It's an antique sword that has been broken and placed in the land of gods at different locations in India," the source said. The first chapter of the trilogy follows Shiva's discovery of fire within himself and how it leads him to the weapon known as Brahmastra." Amitabh Bachchan is Shiva's Guru, and Nagarjuna plays an archaeologist who is rebuilding an ancient Varanasi temple.
Mouni Roy and Saurav Gurjar's characters play adversaries who are also on the lookout for the same weapon. "It's essentially an exciting battle between good and evil to become the world's most powerful person, with many references to Indian mythical legends." The picture boasts impressive visual effects and scope, and the teaser will reveal Ayan Mukerji's vision next year," says the source.
The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji was slated for a Christmas 2019 release, but due to some additional work on VFX, the film will now hit the theatre sometime in the summer of 2020.
